Lage
Die Carlstadt (bis Ende 2005 offiziell Karlstadt) ist ein innenstädtischer Stadtteil Düsseldorfs, der direkt südlich an die Altstadt grenzt.
Typisch für den Stadtteil sind die zahlreichen Antiquitätenläden und Schmuckgeschäfte der gehobenen Klasse. Außerdem sind in der Carlstadt zahlreiche Restaurants und Kneipen vertreten, wobei es hier erheblich ruhiger als in der benachbarten Altstadt zugeht.

Das Komponistenehepaar Clara und Robert Schumann wohnte in der Bilker Straße 15.
Ein überregional bekannter Ort in der Carlstadt ist der Carlsplatz, auf dem ein stationärer Wochenmarkt etabliert ist, der von montags bis samstags geöffnet ist.

Carlstadt (officially Karlstadt until the end of 2005) is an inner-city district of Düsseldorf, bordering directly south on the Old Town.
Typical for the district are the numerous antique stores and jewelry stores of the upper class. Carlstadt is also home to numerous restaurants and pubs, although it is considerably quieter than the neighboring Altstadt.
Among other things, Carlstadt is home to several cultural institutes such as the Robert Schumann Society, the Heinrich Heine Institute, the Instytut Polski and the Institut français, several museums such as the Hetjens Museum of Ceramic History, the Düsseldorf Film Museum and the City Museum of the State Capital of Düsseldorf, as well as the Düsseldorf Marionette Theater. The composer couple Clara and Robert Schumann lived at Bilker Straße 15.
A nationally known place in the Carlstadt is the Carlsplatz, where a stationary weekly market is established, which is open from Monday to Saturday.
